Arthur & Chase (and Thor, Max, and Murrby!) are thrilled to welcome a brand-new crewmate. Dax is already surrounded by so much love, and we cannot wait to share every new heartbeat, kick, and smile.
Updates!
- While our original plan was to induce at exactly 40 weeks (2026-01-07) if Dax didn't decide to come earlier on his own (allegedly, IVF pregnancies that go beyond 40 weeks are riskier when it comes to stillbirths), a few factors have led us to reschedule the induction for New Year's Day instead. At 37 weeks and 1 day, while Dax was only in the 74th percentile in overall weight (7 lbs 5 oz ± 8 oz), he was measuring in the 98th percentile for head circumference (equivalent to a typical 39-week fetus). Because he's also been growing up into Jessie's ribs and stomach (instead of out), she's been in constant discomfort for weeks. While it would of course be advantageous for Dax to stay in longer to mature further, the risk of C-section seemed to high for us, and with Jessie's OB unavailable for a January 7 induction anyway, we figured it made sense to move things up to January 1, which is still 39 weeks and 1 day.
- Our travel logistics have changed since our original plan to go to California 2 months post-birth. Instead, we'll be staying in Denver in the Federal Heights neighborhood from March to August before returning to Bailey.

Arthur and Brit agreed to make embryos with their respective genetic material.

Arthur and Brit had their initial appointment with San Diego Fertility Center.

Brit donated her eggs, embryos were created (of which Dax is one), so Dax was technically conceived!

Circle started presenting prospective surrogate profiles.

We matched with Jessie as our surrogate!

Herasight provided extensive genetic analysis and profiling of the embryos, helping with selection.
